New possibilities for inoperable patients

Chronic lower limb ischemia (CLLI) takes approximately 20% in the structure of CVD. In the US 10% people over 55 years old have asymptomatic form CLLI and 5% suffer from intermittent claudication.

The main goal in the treatment of CLLI is the relief of pain, improved functionality and reduction of the risk of amputation. Surgery is the first choice for this patients, whenever possible. However, due to the nature of lesions of distal peripheral arteries significant percentage of patients (according to various sources — up to 30%) can not undergo surgery. Therapeutic angiogenesis is the only alternative to surgery for these patients, and Neovasculgen is the first in the world drug with therapeutic agiogenesis mechanism of action.
